Both of the websites launched early in 2012, but have generated strong traffic and sales due to being able to become very visible in the Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft search engines, and having the ability to offer top products at lower prices.
My Hot Electronics specializes in the sale of electronic based products which include classic video games, new video games, televisions, home appliances, home and garden products, movies, computers, tablets and more. Since its launch in February, the site has brought in nearly 9,000 unique visitors and 545,000 hits.
The Sports Fan’s Playground is a leading online shopping marketplace for sporting goods, fan apparel from the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, UFC, WWE, college and international leagues. The site launched in April and has brought in 640 visitors and over 268,000 hits.
With increasing sales on both websites, owner DaVaughn Lucas believes that there is so much room for growth over time. “Growing up, I have always had a passion for gadgets and sports. I would love to put different things together and know the capabilities that various objects have that allow us to live our lives stronger and more efficiently. On the same hand, when I wasn’t using the electronics, I would watch all kinds of sports, to the point where I would make sure I watched some kind of ESPN every single day. So I figured, ‘why not run 2 websites that I truly have a personal passion for?”
Lucas has also noted that he does plan an expansion in the next few months into the Canadian and European markets, which would feature individual websites that would sell similar items, but shipped from distribution centers in those areas.
